Online process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for January 2019 has begun from 1st September, 2018. This exam will be conducted twice before admissions in the next academic session.
Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through official website – nta.ac.in and jeemain.nic.in from 1st – 30th September, 2018. Examination fees can be paid online till 1st October, 2018.
National Testing Agency (NTA) will be organising this major exam and JEE Main I exam will be conducted on eight separate days in January 2019 i.e. between 6th January to 20th January, 2019.

JEE Main Paper-I will be held in two shifts i.e. Morning 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and afternoon 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. While Paper-II will be conducted in single shift only.
Paper-I and/or Paper-II can be attempted depending on the course/s the candidate wishes to pursue. All the aspirants will have to appear in Paper-1 (BE/B/Tech) of JEE (Main) 2019. Based on its performance, a number of top candidates as per the requirement of JEE (Advanced) (including all categories) will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2019.
Aspirants need to note that admission to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced).
The second JEE (Main)-April 2019 will be conducted between 6th April – 20th April, 2019. NTA will issue separate notice for this exam and candidates will be required to apply separately.
Aspirants already know that there will be two exams JEE(Main)-1 and JEE (Main)-2, but appearing in both exams is not compulsory. In case candidate appears in both exams, best of the two scores will be used for admission and eligibility for JEE(Advanced)-2019.
