Improve your Aptitude

For building your career, you will have to appear for Aptitude tests for competitive Entrance Exams. A good Aptitude can open you to many opportunities.

Aptitude is the general ability of a person in understanding and solving questions from Maths and Language. In competitive tests, questions from topics like percentages, ratios, synonyms, and comprehension will be asked. To compete for any aptitude test, no specific background of science, commerce or arts is required. Aptitude tests are the only tests that students from any academic backgrounds can attempt. No matter which career you opt, good knowledge of mathematics and language is always required.

Aptitude test can be divided into three parts i.e. Verbal, Numerical and Logical Reasoning. Numerical Aptitude is about numbers and their implementation in problem-solving. Verbal Aptitude is about language. Logical Reasoning is about reasoning skills and your application of Logic.

For improving numerical aptitude, you need to develop the interest in playing with numbers. You should have a strong understanding of numbers and mathematics. Understand the basic concepts like percentages, averages, rate, ratios, permutations, and combinations. The practice of several mock tests will help more in improving numerical aptitude.

For improving verbal aptitude, you should have a strong hold over language i.e. grammar and vocabulary. Inculcate the habit of reading books from popular authors. By reading, you will be able to improve your vocabulary and comprehension.

To improve logical reasoning, your observation skills should be good and so that you can make correct inferences or conclusions. You should have keen observations on patterns and trends.

You need to practice more questions, as that will help you deal with different types of questions that are asked in an aptitude test. Practice may be hard, but you need to be consistent with your efforts to get a good result.

Instead of ignoring, focus on areas where you find difficult and spend major time on that type of questions. Keep practicing as much as possible and make time for practice. Practice under the scheduled time and in exam conditions. This will improve the speed, confidence, and performance on the final day.
